Uppercase Unboxing – April 2016

Hi! Time for another unboxing! Unbagging?? (:

This is Uppercase Box!

Uppercase is a monthly book subscription. There are three different plans to choose from, but I subscribed to the Expert Box. Each Expert box (Or should I say bag) includes one brand new hardcover Young Adult book that is either signed by the author or comes with a signed bookplate, 1-2 exclusive and custom bookish items, and also a unique reading experience for each book.

The box is $23/month plus $6 shipping equaling $29/month!

First look!!

This subscription does not have a theme, other than it is a YA subscription! I love the element of surprise! (:

Magic Notebook from Literary Emporium

Thoughts: I love this!! It is like a little journal, or notebook. But I think I’m going to use it for recipes! Because that would be perfect! (:

Value: $4.50

Hagrid and Buckbeak bookmarks from Beedoo (Uppercase Exclusive)

Thoughts: Ahhhhh so cute!! I love them so so much!

Value: $7.00

Harry Potter Quote Poster by Risa Rodil (Uppercase Exclusive)

Thoughts: So cute. I love Risa Rodil’s work. She is fantastic!

The quote says: “We’ve all got both light and dark inside us. What matters is the part we choose to act on. That’s who we really are.” My favorite!

Value: $15.00

“I read YA” pin for This is Teen’s #IReadYA Week (May 19-23)

Thoughts: So this is neat. This is a week that Scholastic puts on about all things YA. There are daily challenges in which you can win prizes and books!! (I don’t know why the flyer says May 2-6, and the slip of paper with details says May 19-23, but I think it is going to be the 19th-23rd).

I will try to participate and see how this goes!

Scarlett Epstein Hates It Here by Anna Breslaw – SIGNED! + stickers!

Summary:
Meet Scarlett Epstein, BNF (Big Name Fan) in her online community of fanfiction writers, world-class nobody at Melville High. Her best (read: only) IRL friends are Avery, a painfully shy and annooyingly attractive bookworm, and Ruth, her weed-smoking seventy-three-year-old neighbor.

When Scarlett’s beloved TV show is canceled and her longtime crush, Gideon, is sucked out of her orbit and into the dark and distant world of Populars, Scarlett turns to the fanfic message boards for comfort. This time, though, her subjects aren’t the swoon-worthy stars of her fave series – they’re the real-life kids from her high school. And if they ever find out what Scarlett thinks about them, she’ll be thrust into a situation far more dramatic than anything she’s ever seen on TV….

Thoughts: This sounds so good, and funny! I love contemporary novels in the summer time, so I’m excited to read this soon!

Value: $17.99

Reading Experience

As always, I wanted to include this photo!

I posted above in the description about each book having a unique reading experience and this is what that is!

Usually, there are a few post it notes in the book, but the past few months, we have gotten bookmarks, and I think I like it a lot better! It is helpful to have a bookmark to go with the book! Although, sometimes I do forget to look up the website at the specific page numbers without the flags in the books. /:

Anyway, the way this works, when you get to the page shown in the book, you go to the website listed for questions, polls, and videos that correspond to that part in the book! Very fun!

Total Value for this box: $44.49!

I always love my Uppercase! Already can’t wait for next month!

If you are interested in this subscription, head over to www.uppercasebox.com and sign up!

I hope you enjoyed my #Uppercase unboxing!

Thanks for reading! (:
