The Book(ish) Box Unboxing – “Galentine’s Day”- February 2017

Hi!

Final unboxing for February!

img_3377This is The Book(ish) Box by Appraising Pages!

This subscription box has recently changed up their box to provide more options. Starting February 2017, this box will include a newly released YA book! You can choose to get a book, a shirt, and goodies. You can choose the shirt + goodies, the book + goodies, or just the goodies! The pricing varies for all of these different boxes.

This box is the shirt + book + goodies!

I will say that I am a little frustrated with this box. It did not have an info card, which I always think is very annoying and not professional or courteous to the shops that made the items inside, but anyway..

I also will not be able to put pricing on literally anything except the book because of the no info card situation..

Thoughts: I love this book, but this color is my least favorite, so I’m kind of bummed about it. The quote reads: “We didn’t talk about anything heavy or light. We were just there together and that was enough.”

Thoughts: I love this book and I really want to finish the series! Love this quote also, which reads: “People shout when they don’t have the vocabulary to whisper”.

Thoughts: I really wish I knew who made this. And what book inspired it. But it is cute. It has a long chain, I actually can pair this with something and make a really cute outfit!

Thoughts: I know that this bookmark is from LexyOlivia, because we have gotten them in literally every box for the last 6 or more months. Not really complaining thought because I love them and they are beautiful!

Quote: “True friends are always together in spirit”

Thoughts: This is that shop this box keeps using that has no way to order from them or see their products, so there is nothing to link.

But these are cute! I will give one to my best book friend! (:

Summary: When Adam Blake lands the best elective ever in his senior year, serving as an aide to the school psychologist, he thinks he’s got it made. Sure, it means a lot of sitting around, which isn’t easy for a guy with ADHD, but he can’t complain, since he gets to spend the period texting all his friends. Then the doctor asks him to track down the troubled freshman who keeps dodging her, and Adam discovers that the boy is Julian—the foster brother he hasn’t seen in five years.

Adam is ecstatic to be reunited. At first, Julian seems like the boy he once knew. He’s still kindhearted. He still writes stories and loves picture books meant for little kids. But as they spend more time together, Adam realizes that Julian is keeping secrets, like where he hides during the middle of the day, and what’s really going on inside his house. Adam is determined to help him, but his involvement could cost both boys their lives…

Thoughts: I am excited about this book. I have been anticipating it. I am slightly annoyed that I got it in this box though because to me, it doesn’t really fit into the theme of the box, and also because I already have it. Because it was released almost 2 months ago.

Okay, so that was the box! I feel like it is highly lacking from my normal unboxing posts. But I can only do so much when there is no info card..

I was disappointed in this box. If my account hadn’t already renewed before I got this box, I probably would have canceled. I just feel like this box is lacking in creativity. The same exact shops are used over and over again, and sometimes that’s okay. But I would like to see more. That is how I find my favorite etsy shops to order from, and I’m not able to get as much out of these if I keep getting basically the same stuff over and over.

We will see how the March box is, but I honestly think this is about the end for me with this box.. 😦

Now, don’t get me wrong, this is a good box. I just don’t think it is my favorite of the ones I subscribe to.

Don’t forget that you can change your subscription to get a book from this point on, so if you’re already a subscriber, take advantage of that. If you are not, and you are interested, there are a ton of options, so go check them out here: https://thebookishbox.cratejoy.com/

I hope you enjoyed my unboxing!

Thanks for reading! (:
