January 2019 Wrap Up!

Is it just me, or did January last literally forever??

Even still, I only managed to finish 3 books. January was a busy, but exciting month for me. I moved into my own place, and exciting things have been happening in my personal life, so I’ve been adjusting to a new normal. Hopefully, once things settle, I’ll have some more time to read!

Quick monthly wrap up:

Total books read: 3

Total pages read: 1,430

Average January rating: 3.67/5

376935521. Evermore by Sara Holland (Everless, #2)

Thoughts: This was a really good ending to this duology! I wouldn’t say I’m disappointed, but I didn’t love it as much as the first book. But, I would still totally recommend this duology. The plot is a lot of fun and really interesting. I was a little sad that the “time is currency” concept wasn’t as big of a part in this one, but otherwise, I really enjoyed the story!

Rating: I gave this 3.5/5 stars on Goodreads!

271885962. War Storm by Victoria Aveyard (Red Queen, #4)

Thoughts: Oh my. I was so frustrated. This book was fine, until close to the end. Literally I feel like nothing happened in this whole book except petty arguments and war. So. Much. War. Which, usually I would be fine with, but this was kind of excessive. Ugh, I’m so annoyed. The ending was dumb. So many parts of it. I’m still not sure what the point of this book was.

Probably definitely an unpopular opinion here, butttt I’m disappointed.

Rating: I gave this 2.5/5 stars on Goodreads.

331609633. The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid

Thoughts:Oh this book. Man. All the feels at the end.
I honestly loved every second of this one. I had so much fun reading it. I was so intrigued by learning about each of Evelyn’s husbands, and Celia and Harry throughout the whole story. Just so so good.

Evelyn is such a complex character, and honestly, I’m still not sure if I love her or hate her, but I think that is what makes this book so compelling. This was a phenomenal story. Highly, highly recommend.

Rating: I gave this 5/5 stars on Goodreads!

There is my wrap up for January! My favorite book was obviously The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo.

What was your favorite read in January?

Thanks for reading! (:

I haven’t read the Everless series or the Red Queen series, but both of them are super high on my TBR! Someday I’ll get to them… hopefully someday soon, haha. In the meantime, I’m glad to see you’re enjoying them 🙂 Good luck with your February reading!
