I know it’s July, but I still wanted to do this tag! So, I’m just going to use books that I read in January-June. I saw this tag on Hailey in Bookland‘s channel.
Question 1: Best book you’ve read so far in 2019?
Love and Other Words by Christina Lauren. Honestly, I haven’t had very many 5 star reads this year so far. 4, to be exact. But this one has to be my favorite. It was just so good.
Question 2: Best sequel you’ve read so far this year?
The Proposal by Jasmine Guillory. I know this isn’t technically a sequel, but it still shows up as the 2nd book in the little spin off series set on Goodreads, sooo I’m using it. But also because I haven’t really read many sequels this year.
Question 3: A new release you haven’t read but want to read?
Recursion by Blake Crouch. I really want to get to this one really soon!
Question 4: Most anticipated release for the rest of 2019?
There are lots I’m anticipating for the rest of this year, but Five Dark Fates by Kendare Blake has to be at the top. I am so sad for this series to be ending, but man am I ready to dive into this one!
Question 5: What was the biggest book disappointment?
Ugh, War Storm by Victoria Aveyard. I don’t even want to talk about it, I was so annoyed.
Question 6: What was the biggest book surprise?
The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid. I thought I was going to like this, but I didn’t think I’d like it as much as I did!
Question 7: Do you have a new favorite author? (New to you, or debut)
For me, this is definitely Christina Lauren. I have read 5 of their books this year, and I think it’s safe to say I’m obsessed. They are definitely a new auto-buy author for me.
Question 8: Do you have a new fictional crush?
I’m going with Carlos from The Proposal. He is just the bestttt.
Question 9. Do you have a new favorite character?
I’m going with Olive from The Unhoneymooners by Christina Lauren. She was so realistic. She was a little bit bigger, but that did not stop her confidence. She was sassy and independent. I really enjoyed her character.
Question 10: What is a book that made you cry?
Definitely Five Feet Apart by Rachael Lippincott. Sobbed, actually. The movie was also amazing.
Question 11: What is a book that made you happy?
This may be cheating, but honestly, all of the Christina Lauren books I’ve read.. they’re all so feel-good, and I can’t choose one.
Question 12: What’s the most beautiful book you’ve bought this year?
The 7 1/2 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle by Stuart Turton. I just think this cover is sleek and beautiful.
Question 13: What books do you need to read by the end of this year?
This is cheating, but, literally all of the unread books on my shelf..
Okay, there is the Mid-Year Book Freak Out Tag! I hope you enjoyed!
Thanks for reading! (:
